les décors gravés sur le médaillon central, amovible et probablement auparavant émaillé, se retrouvent sur des céramiques lustrées du XV^e siècle découvertes à Valencia (voir détail). Bien que la forme de cette pièce fût largement répandue durant les XV^e et XVI^e siècles, il serait logique de lui attribuer une origine italienne à la vue des autres pièces de la collection. L'influence des céramiques lustrées espagnoles sur l'argenterie fut déja remarquée sur une aiguière, auparavant dans la collection Al-Tajir, qualifiée d'aragonaise. Son bec verseur est typique des productions à la fois hispano-mauresque et vénitienne.

The central disc which is detachable and therefore may have been enamelled, is engraved with ornament similar to that found on 15th century Hispano-Mauresque Lusteware from Valencia (see detail). While the general form of this bowl was fairly widespread in the 15th and 16th century, it seems logical to attribute it to Italy on the basis of the origin of other pieces from the same property. The influence of Spanish Lustreware on silver has been noted before particuarly on a ewer thought to be Aragonese, formerly in the Al-tajir collection see note 3 to lot. 359. This has an unusual spout which is at the same time Hispano-Mauresque and Venetian.
