  • hand-wrought copper and glazed earthenware
  • inset tiles executed by California Faience, Berkeley, CA

Provenance

Condition

Overall in excellent condition. The hand-wrought copper displays exceptionally hammering and a rich russet brown patina, with some light surface scratches, gentle rubbing and surface soiling, and with a few tiny scattered traces of surface oxidation, consistent with age and gentle use. The glazed tiles are in excellent condition with no visible condition issues, with some surface soiling and a few very minor imperfections to the glaze inherent in the making. The bookends have great scale and presence, and the surfaces are wonderfully tactile.
