the double-domed cornice above a pair of conforming doors fitted with later beveled mirror plates and opening to an arrangement of pigeon holes and folio slides. The lower section fitted with slant front opening to a central prospect door flanked by pigeon holes and small drawers before an inset leather writing panel. The case fitted with one frieze drawer above two short drawers above two long graduated doors. Raised on bracket feet. Condition

Adapted, altered, restored, top and bottom associated; Overall fair condition; some old worm damage to top of upper section; minor stress tears to veneers of door fronts over lines of construction; mirror plates later; oak panels behind mirror plates replaced; lacking shelves; right candle slide with loss to molded facing, approximately 2 inches in length and lacking brass pull; left side panel with rectangular patch approximately 2 inches by 1 inch to back left corner; left and right side panel with small long, thin patches to veneers to back edge; side panels reveneered. Lower section adapted; composed of 18th century elements; the lower section with later cross-cut sections to back; the top veneered and associated; slant front with horizontal age cracks; interior with later fittings, stains, minor chips and nicks to edges; handles and escutcheons appear to be later; the top frieze drawer with small chips and losses to molded edge of bottom cornice; bowing to drawer fronts; one short drawer with replaced section to top; with age crack approximately 7 inches in length. Paneled back boards later addition and covering original back boards; structure of back adapted; plinth associated; middle long drawer with patch to veneer of bottom left corner, approximately 1 inch by 3 inches; overall with old marks, scratches, scuffs, bruises, and nicks.
