Condition
An impressive and striking piece of good overall appearance. The ivory and patina of a more yellow tone than suggested by the catalogue illustration. Old marks and scratches consistent with age. Some wear and blemishing to patina, particularly to the skirt of the right hand figure, partially visible in the catalogue illustration. The right hand figure is more oxidised and worn overall. Ivory fillet to left foot of right hand figure is slightly ill fitting and chipped. Enamel highlights retouched. Ivory in good condition generally. Numerous small chips to the base of the marble plinth. A good example of this desirable model.

For example, it is illegal to import elephant ivory under 100 years old into the United States.
