Condition

The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration, although the overall contrast is stronger in the original. The work is in excellent condition. A tiny loss of media (approx. 2 cm), as well as a tiny one (approx. 2 mm) are both visible in the upper left quadrant. The work is unlined and no trace fluoresces under UV light.

Le salon privé du baron Elie de Rothschild. Les oeuvres d'art moderne y prédominent. Sur la gauche, table de télévision par César; sur la droite, table d'orme de Stahly et sculpture de Chadwick. Sur le mur de gauche, peintures de Miro et de Vieira da Silva (Hiver); sur le mur de la cheminée, Enseigne pour une école de Mouettes de Max Ernst, Lecture au Sol de Jean Dubuffet et bas-relief en métal de César. Sur la cheminée, on peut voir une collection de sculptures préhistoriques de Perse et d'Asie Mineure.
