Condition

This work is in very good condition. The board is sound. There are some stabilized and thin craquelures to the white surface. Under UV light, there are a few small retouching to the edges of the lower right quadrant. Colours: the white area is more vibrant and the overall tonality is more burgundy than brown in the original.

Catalogue Note

signed; signed on the back; oil on panel. Executed in 1957.

(Jacques Lassaigne, in Alexis Poliakoff, op.cit., p. 34)
