Description

  • Marble
  • 140cm. high, 180cm. wide, 19cm. deep; 4ft. 7in., 5ft. 10 ¾ in., 7 ½ in.

Condition

The catalogue photograph is a bit moody. The marble is a little whiter, although the colour of the inlay is representative. The top of the mantle is slightly discoloured through age and use. There is a repair to the front left corner and very small chips and scratches to the front edge. Overall the chimneypiece is in good condition. It may benefit from a light clean. There are small chips and nibbles to the edges as to be expected. There is a slightly larger old chip to the top left corner of the right block foot. There are two discoloured joins to moulding beneath inlaid frieze panels.
