Condition

The sculpture is in very good condition with the exception of expected light wear/scratches in areas and minor pitting to the gilding. There is some wear/discolouration to the gilding to the back of the figure and to the back of the stand. There are a few original cracks in the cast on top of the base behind the figure, and a few original rectangular metal patches scattered on the surface (these were generally added after the cast and before the gilding to correct some surface pitting or minor casting defects), the largest to the rear left of the figure (patch 3,5 x 2,7 cm). The base has been opened and resealed with a later plaque, some papers showing inside. Please note that there is a provenance label "Acc..rsi Pietro Antichita, Torino, Via Po 55, no.5676" behind the base.
