Condition

The following condition report was kindly provided by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.: This painting has been recently restored. The canvas has been lined. The paint layer is stable and well textured where the artist intended for it to be. There is a slightly thicker grain of canvas running horizontally through the top of the figure's hair and another running through the area of her knees. There is a small amount of retouching in both instances, possibly to reduce this. Some pentimenti of foliage in the upper wall above the head have been lightly retouched. The condition of this painting is beautiful.
