Description

  • bust of a girl in a hat
  • alabaster

Condition

Overall the condition of the alabaster is good. There is wear and some dirt to the surface consistent with age. There are some stable, naturally occurring fissures on the surface, particularly at the chest. Two small hooks are mounted at the back of the neck on the proper left side; the removal of two others on the other side has caused small losses to the surface. There a few surface scratches to the proper left side of the chest. There are some chips to the rim of the hat, around the truncation and to the drapery at the back of the figure. Some green pigment has rubbed off on the truncation on the back.
