Catalogue Note

The text here is that published in 1872 by T. Wright from another similar roll (Feudal Manuals of English History, item vi, pp. 154-69). It traces Scottish history from the mythical times of Brut, Dunwald and Arthur through to the attendance of James Stewart, king of the Scots on Henry V. As Wright notes, Sir Frederick Madden believed the original to have been made for Henry VII, and the arms at the base of this copy would appear to confirm this.
