the two bearers standing dressed in wide sleeved patterned jackets, leggings and sandals, each clasping a bamboo staff and supporting the wood palanquin suspended from a long log resting on their shoulders, a mother and child seated beneath the sloping woven canopy, the young boy waving at a child selling persimmon kneeling and holding a fruit up towards them, causing them to stop on the log bridge partly covered with water, a sack and umbrella on the ground nearby, signed on a red lacquer tablet Seisui or Shosui
