Catalogue Note

June is a painting from the series Living Mathematics which I've revisited and updated again and again over the last 20 years. At the heart of the series are illustrations from those textbooks of inviting maths problems I used to adore as a child. I like the description that the artist Victor Pivovarov gave the project: "a nostalgic poem about lost clarity".
