Condition

This painting on canvas is framed behind glass. It is stretched on its original stretcher and seems to be in extremely good condition. There are no apparent paint losses or restorations. The canvas could be tightened slightly but no cleaning, retouching or varnishing is required. The work should be framed behind glass in the future to protect the delicate paint layer. The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com , an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's.
