Description

  • processional cross
  • gilt copper on a wood core

Condition

Overall the condition of the copper is good. There is some dirt to the surface consistent with age. The gilt copper is rubbed throughout. Some of the sheets of metal and figures are slightly warped or loose, mainly due to missing nails. On both sides of the top of the arm of the cross there are a few minor losses and cracks to the copper. The central plate at the back is torn. The wood core is broken off near the underside of the cross.
