  • Handstamped druksel with sjablonen, signed and dated '43 in ink, from an edition of 65, on wove paper, the full sheet, apart from some paper discolouration, otherwise in good condition
  • 40 by 25 cm.

Condition

The paper is glued along the extreme upper edge to the mount. There is some paper discolouration, otherwise the work is in very good condition.

Catalogue Note

This image is the fourth design Werkman has made as part of the assignment to create a premium edition for the Nederlandsch Verbond voor Boekenvrienden.
Mr Kist, chairman of the Boekenvrienden, wrote to Werkman in a letter dated September 4, 1943: 'For most members, the blue bird in front of the tree would be preferable, in my opinion, because it might be more direct than the others.'
