Description

  • Diameter and thickness of 'bi' approximately 54.05 and 3.60 mm.
The translucent jadeite 'bi' of mottled green colour, suffused with dark emerald green patches, accentuated by a flying bat, signifying good fortune and happiness, pavĂ©-set throughout with black and brilliant-cut diamonds, and the eyes set with circular-cut rubies, mounted in 18 karat white and blackened gold, pendant loop fitting

Condition

Colour and Clarity: In our opinion, the jadeite 'bi' is translucent, of celdon suffused with a few intense green to emerald green splashes. The black diamonds are opaque and near-colourless diamonds are probably of J to K colour, VS2 to SI clarity. Two tiny rubies are purplish red colour, eye clean. Condition: In Chinese culture, 'bat' represents fortune and luck. This jadeite brooch shows an innovative design and detailed workmanship, conveying an auspicious meaning, overall in mint condition.
