Demantoid garnet and diamond pendant, circa 1910, composite

Set with an oval demantoid garnet within a surround of calibré-cut similar stones, the borders set with rose-cut diamonds, to a later trace link chain, length approximately 400mm, signed Tiffany & Co.

Metal tested as platinum and gold. Please refer to The Gem & Pearl Laboratory report no.01968 for further details on the demantoid garnets. Central garnet measuring approximately 12.2 x 9.4 x 6.2mm, estimated to weigh approximately 5.50 carats, lively stone with good colour saturation, good brilliance, minor nicks and abrasion to facet junctions. Originally a brooch, later converted into a pendant. Associated chain of similar date. Composite. Chain clasp signed Tiffany & Co. Scratches and tarnish to metal mainly at the back, commensurate with age and wear. Minor marks of soft solder at the back. In good condition.
