Condition

The artwork is in very good condition. The nine black painted panels with white pin stripes are in good condition. The paint is tightly bound and the white pin stripes retain their original clarity. Several faint vertical scuffs were observed on the proper left side on the third panel from the top. The black frame that encompasses the composition is in good condition although dusty. Minor paint loss can be seen on the outside proper left edge of the black fame. Scuffs and a 1/4" loss of paint were found on the frame above the top pin striped panel. All of the nylon wires and bars are accounted for. The metal rods that are painted black and blue show signs of tiny paint loss scattered throughout the surface. Rust can be seen where the metal has been exposed. The tiny losses are more visible on the blue side than black. Small cracks in the wood can be seen along the proper left side of the joint on the bottom ledge. The ledge does flex slightly along the joint in this area and slightly less so at the other end of the ledge. Despite this slight movement the panel appears structurally sound.
