Condition

The present lot is new, untouched and still in its original Patek Philippe seal and plastic box. Please note that since the strap is crocodile/alligator, a CITIES license will be needed to be able to ship the watch out of Switzerland in its original plastic seal and with its original alligator strap. It could take up to 3 months to order the CITIES depending on where the lot must be shipped to. The procedure to get one is very easy and Sotheby's will make all the necessary arrangements according to the buyer's needs.

Catalogue Note

The production of the Ref. 5004 commenced in 1995 and remains the most complicated model in Patek Philippe's line of chronographs. Composed of 407 miniscule parts, the present example houses calibre CHR 27-70Q, and ingeniously combines a spilt seconds chronograph and perpetual calendar in a classic 18k white gold case. The present masterpiece employs Patek Philippe's patented spilt seconds disengagement mechanism, accurate within a fraction of a second. The perptual calendar function features a 24-hour display, leap year indication and precision moon-phases device.
The present example offered for the fist time at auction is in a as new condition in a sealed plastic bag and fitted Patek Philippe box, it is the first example of this type to appear on the watch auction market this year
