Relined and under a dirty, discolored old varnish. scattered thinness can be seen in the foliage and in the darks of the foreground, however the picture still reads well overall. there is some visible old retouching along the upper edge and an old repaired puncture and tear in landscape at lower center. under UV: the varnish fluoresces unevenly; there is some more recent scattered retouching in the sky, foliage and landscape that is on top of the old, dirty varnish including in lower landscape at center, over the aforementioned repaired puncture and tear, and along the edges. this painting hasn't been attended to in a long time and would benefit from a light cleaning and re-addressing of the old restorations that have now discolored and become visible to the naked eye.
