Relined. under a yellowed varnish. the paint surface has been well preserved and there is good retention of detail throughout. ultraviolet light does not reveal any significant retouching, just a small retouch in background at upper center.

The present work appears to relate to Giambattista Tiepolo's Immaculate Conception, now in the Museo Civico, Vicenzo.
In a private correspondence of February 10, 1995, George Knox endorsed the attribution to Giambattista, and suggested an execution date of circa 1730.
