Condition

Oil on panel in what appears to be an engaged frame. There has been some minor abrasion to the surface and there are areas where the red ground shows though, in part due to the artist's thin application of paint, as well as to the aforementioned abrasions. U.V. light reveals minor retouching throughout though mostly limited to the flesh tones. There may be other retouching in the background but varnish makes them impossible to read under U.V. light. The painting is engaged in a carved and gilt wood frame with minor abrasions and worm holes.
