Description

The pear-shaped black opal drops supported on long fringes of foliate motif, set with 52 round diamonds weighing approximately 1.25 carats, mounted in platinum. 

Condition

Stamped PT950 and PAT. NO. 6557220 to reverse of backing. Diamonds are bright and lively stones, estimated color G/H, estimated clarity VS or better. The translucent opal drops display predominantly green, blue and violet plays of color; less intensely colored and more "misty" in appearance than indicated by the catalogue illustration. One opal with an extremely small patch of minor crazing when viewed under bright light. In very good condition.
