Condition

In overall very good condition. Fully marked (French export mark, Hermès head, and maker's mark for Georges Boin, also 900) stamped on base rim and detachable cover. the upper part could be used to be filled with ice to present oysters or caviar. An inscription erased on one of the cartouche. Very nice pattern.

Catalogue Note

G. Boin-Taburet est considéré comme l'artiste qui a réintroduit le style Louis XV dans les arts du métal à la fin des années 1880. Etant donnée la rareté de l'argenterie d'époque Louis XV, il puisa son inspiration dans des gravures et des objets en porcelaine, emplissant son magasin rue Pasquier d'antiquités et de réinterprétations modernes. Il fut honoré d'un prix lors de l'exposition de 1889, avec Christofle, Froment-Meurice et les Frères Fannière.
