the lid applied with miniatures of the Prince of Asturias, later Charles IV, King of Spain (reigned 1788-1808), and his consort, Maria Louisa (1751-1819), daughter of Philip I of Parma, the chased cagework mounts enclosing multi-coloured enamel panels, maker's mark, Paris date letter for 1785, charge and discharge marks of Henri Clavel, 1783-1789
