Etant donnés les poinçons de décharge et la lettre-date, cette boîte a très probablement été réalisée entre le 13 et le 15 juillet 1780.
Cette boîte, probablement issue d'un service de toilette, est aux armes de Louis-François Carlet, marquis de la Rozière (1733-1808), maréchal des camps et armées du Roi, général-major au service de la Russie, lieutenant-général des armées portugaises, et son épouse née N. de Granville.
