Description

  • 71cm. high
25-cm brass dial signed Otto Van Meurs Amsteldam with engraved silvered chapter ring, apertures for day and date, an arched sector calibrated IIII - XII - VIII for the hours of the day indicated by a sunburst pointer, a revolving annular calendar with the signs of the Zodiac and date pointer below, the centre with moonphase/date and tide, ebony veneered case with bell top surmounted by brass finials, brass handles over pierced frets to the sides, brass bound base raised on bracket feet

Condition

dial a little tarnished but in reasonable condition; only the central part over XII is repainted badly and could be improved, part of the painting for the lowers pandrels is rubbed at the bottom, substantial movement with latched front pillars, complete but the gut-line of the going train is broken (all should be fine when repaired), case in dirty original condition, upper part of the bell top is restored, ebony with a few cracks but nothing major and no losses, all brass parts stained, together with a winder and pendulum
