Description

  • A 'Benlian' Tabriz carpet
  • approximately 445 by 350cm., 14ft. 7in. by 11ft. 6in.
with Benlian star motif in inner guard stripe

Condition

Colour in printed catalogue is very slightly too warm; the tawny coloured leaves are more tan in colour than terracotta and the goround is a more neautral creamy colour than it appears in print. Please note the vertical shadow stripes in the illustration are from creases in the pile when the carpet was photographed: these are not permanent. the pile is very good overall, approximately 5-6 mm in depth; fringes are trimmed close to the edges of the pile and overlocked; sidecords sound. The carpet has been chemically lightened at some point. Overall the carpet is in extremely good condition, and ready to use.
