Description

the figure standing in front of a high mandorla, wearing a tight-fitting dhoti, the lower part inlaid with silver and gold bands, holding two sprays of lotus, supporting emblems, on a lotus base

The Robert Strauss Collection.

Condition

This bronze figure is generally in good condition. However it has lost most of its gilding and there are traces of it on the face, back, chest, arms and legs. There is a dent to the left edge of the mandorla and the figure is relatively loosely attached to the base.
