Description

the delicately curved sides supported on a petite foot, culminating in a slightly everted lip, applied to the exterior with a thick purple glaze running over the interior of the mouth, the remainder of the well filled with a lavender-blue glaze revealing tiny 'worm-holes', minor traces of lavender-blue around the foot stained brown, the underside applied with a lavender-blue glaze, Japanese wood box (2)

Provenance

John Sparks, Ltd, London (until 1975/1976).

Condition

There is a tiny glaze chip to the rim 1/16 inch wide. The exterior with approximately four pinpricks and pinholes, all negligible. The foot was likely reduced, and has areas of kiln adhesion. Inspection under UV light showed no fluorescence. Updated 24 February 2009
