Condition

Two well crafted and appealing chairs of good overall appearane. The armchair with additional inscription (presumably written by Sir George Trevelyan) 'Designed by Ernest Gimson, Made by Percy Burchett, 1929 in workshops of Peter Waals'. Note Gimson designed these chairs but they were made later in 1931 by Burchett in Waals's workshop. Each of good structural condition with typical minor old marks and wear in places. Restoration around joint to end of right arm (facing) and a small area of loss (c.1cm) to the upright just above where it is met by the right arm. Seat covers do not match. With an excellent provenance. In good, unrestored and honest condition, ready for use.
