depicting in multicolored tesserae a crab and two other marine animals.

Provenance

acquired in 1969 by the present owner from Asfar Bros., Hotel St. George, Beirut [inv. no. 268]

Condition

Tesserae set in heavy modern concrete slab, a few isolated ones missing, thick reddish grout filling interstices in lower half bleeding over surface of tesserae, in upper half sides of tesserae are half exposed, entire surface of apnel is covered with waxy substance which has turned yellow overtime
