Condition
The canvas has been re-lined. There are scattered spots of retouching visible under ultraviolet light, notably to the sky and to darker areas of the ground. Apart from a spot of paint loss (approx. 1.3 by 1.4cm.) to the upper left corner, the work is in good condition, with soft tones and strong detail. Held in a decorative, gold-painted moulded plaster and wood frame with a brown velvet slip.
