Condition

Original canvas. There are scattered spots of retouching visible under ultraviolet light, notably to the upper left, flecks to the upper right and to the dress of the left-hand figure. Apart from scattered areas of craquelure and a few flecks of discoloured varnish to the centre of the extreme upper edge, this work is in good condition, with fresh, bright colours. Held in a decorative, gold and black-painted moulded plaster and wood frame.
