Work on original canvas. From a first hand inspection there are some losses along the edges and a rip along the lower edge, from the right corner towards the center. Other losses are visible along the lower edge and over the greenery near the top right hand corner (all visible from the picture in the catalogue). A small scratch (cm 6 circa long) is visible below the boy's left elbow. there are other tiny small holes and losses along the top edge, some losses were retouched. The ultra violet light reveals fluorescent varnish dishomogeneously spread over the surface and some retouches over the neck, the shirt and the boy's chest. It is suggested a restoration and a careful cleansing. the overall condition as to the state of preservation is fairly good.
