  • 98mm (including riband carrier) x 55.5mm
with workmaster's mark ÈË, in gold, rose-cut diamonds and enamels, one stone lacking and with a minor chip to the edge of the oval enamel centre on obverse, extremely fine, with original riband and an associated contemporary fitted case

Catalogue Note

The Order of St. Catherine was established by Emperor Peter I in 1714 exclusively for female recipients. Ninety-four Lesser crosses were conferred upon ladies of the highest nobility, who were part of the suite of the Empress and had engaged in important philanthropic or charitable works outside of their duties at Court.
