Condition

"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. The oak panel is in good condition and is evenly chamfered. The painting is in very good condition. There is the remains of a previous varnish here and there and a small repaired damage between the D and T of the signature lower left. Modern tortoise shell effect frame-good condition."

We are grateful to Frau Margret Klinge for endorsing the attribution to Teniers following inspection of the original, and for proposing a date of execution after 1660.
