  • The Tower of Babel
  • signed with monogram on the wall lower left: IS (in ligature)
  • oil on panel

Condition

The support consist of three horizontal panels joined to the reverse and bevelled on all four sides. The panel has a very slightly convex bow. The paint surface is stable and clean. Inspection under UV light reveals scattered, non-obtrusive retouchings, particularly to the edifice on the left hand edge and following the grains of the panel in the sky. Offered in a later plain wood frame.
