Condition

A striking piece of good overall appearance. Very minor old marks and scratches to surface in places consistent with age and soft nature of material. None are noticeable or distracting apart from a 1" scratch to the base of one of the pierced angled shades. Not tested or guaranteed for electricity. Top of square plinth with spots of oxidisation, most noticeable to sides at base. A solid and well constructed piece.

Catalogue Note

The`Très Grand Signal' floor lamp is acknowledged as the most impressive of the group known as `Les Colonnes'.  To create substance and body Mouille replaced the black painted finish of the smaller `Signal' models with brushed aluminium.  The model's production was overseen directly by the designer, unlike the smaller variants within the series.
