Description

The striped yellow and rose gold match box decorated with a circle of calibré-cut rubies, surmounted by a tied ribbon set with rose-cut diamonds, signed Cartier Paris London and numbered, French assay and maker's marks, a few stones and one small element of the bow deficient, accompanied by a brooch designed as a floral spray, the leaves set with circular- and rose-cut diamonds, to the yellow gold petals set at the centre with cushion-shaped stones, French assay marks.

Condition

Matchbox numbered 1847. Scratches and a minor dents to metal consistent with age and wear. Rubies well matched, surface reaching inclusions, one small stone deficient, minor abrasion and nicks. Center part of the diamond bow deficient. Minor tarnish to metal. In overall good condition. Brooch with French import marks for gold and platinum. The larger cushion-shaped diamonds estimated to weigh approximately 1.70, 2.00, 1.40, 0.60 and 0.80 carats respectively, generally J-L colour, SI-I clarity (graded as far as yellow gold mount permits). Tarnish and scratches to metal consistent with age and wear. In good condition.
