Catalogue Note

A similar bracelet watch is illustrated in Bejewelled by Tiffany:1837-1987, edited by Clare Phillips, p. 278, no. 157. According to company ledgers, the "dahlia" bracelet-watch was made three times between 1958 and 1962. Two were made with the combination of yellow beryls and diamonds, such as the one offered here, and the third with a central flower of diamonds, the other flowers centered by gold seed-balls. A gold and yellow beryl "dahlia" compact by Schlumberger is illustrated in The Jewels of Jean Schlumberger, p. 39, no. 85, published in conjunction with the exhibition entitled "Un Diamant dan la ville" organized by the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris, 1996.
