Description

The brooch set with step-cut pink sapphires, cabochon rubies, square- and fancy-cut emeralds, French assay and maker's marks, together with a ring set at the centre with a step-cut pink topaz bordered by half moon-shaped pink sapphires, size 54, with ring sizer, French assay marks, all mounted in yellow gold, unillustrated.

Condition

Please refer to the Important Notices page 217 in the Day Sale catalogue, regarding import of rubies into the US. Brooch stamped 750 for gold. French assay marks for Darde & Fils's workshop who worked with Herz- Belperron from 1955 to 1970. Cabochon rubies and emeralds with typical crystal inclusions, some surface reaching. The remaining gemstones are nearly clean to the naked eye, some minor crystal inclusions are present but not distracting. Minor wear to the surfaces of the stones. Ring: French assay marks for gold. Central pink topaz overall clean to the naked eye, probably due to wear chips and scratches are noticeable to the surface. The two pink sapphires with typical crystal inclusions. Both jewels with signs of normal wear to the gold, scratches consistent with wear. In good condition.
