Catalogue Note

Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives confirming production in 1962 and sale on December 15th, 1962.

Reference 1463 was manufactured from 1940 until the late 1960s.

The present wristwatch belongs to the third and final series of the reference 1463. Unlike standard earlier versions of the 1463, the third series features a linear dial design. Most notably, it does not feature a twin outer 'chemin de fer' (on the earlier versions of the reference there are two adjoining outer tracks for the chronograph seconds/constant minutes/tachometer, for an example, see lot 164 in the current sale). Instead, on the third series, the divisions of the chronograph seconds/constant minutes and tachometer are not enclosed thereby giving the dial a lighter design. The applied faceted baton numerals are also more reminiscent of later models such as the 2438-1 (see lot 191).

For further information on the reference 1463, see lot 164 in the current sale.
