Provenance

Sold Sotheby's, London, December 7, 1971, lot 8, there catalogued as from Pesaro
Sold Christie's, New York, September 29, 1999, lot 11

Condition

Minor chips and standard surface abrasions. Restoration and overpainting to right side of border incorporating the clouds. There are two seemingly stable hairline cracks from the left hand portion of the clouds, moving right to the edge of the plate. A wedge of the border of the plate was probably expertly replaced (approximately two and a half inches long). The work was very well done and not easily discernable. Otherwise, overall very attractive and good quality.
