Description

The old-mine brilliant-cut diamond of fancy yellow color weighing 10.24 carats, mounted in platinum, the prongs and openwork gallery lightly engraved, size 6ΒΌ.

Condition

See GIA report stating the diamond is Fancy Yellow, VS1 clarity. The color of the diamond is slightly more yellow than pictured on page 146, but slightly less yellow than in the enhanced photograph on page 147. Engraving on the shank and gallery rubbed off from regular wear, and there are spots of repair done previously, but the mounting seems to be secure. The ring was purchased as an engagement ring by the present consignor's grandparents in Manila, the Philippines, in the late 1920s or early 1930s.

Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.
