SERPENTINE, SILVER GILT AND ENAMEL BELL PUSH, CIRCA 1890 AND LATER

Description

The white and burgundy guilloché enamel bell push to an ivory back, circa 1910, surmounted by a carved serpentine 'Great Auk' its eyes highlighted with circular-cut rubies, circa 1890.

Condition

In overall good condition, serpentine Auk possibly late C19th and later applied to an early C20th bell push. Small hairline crack to one foot, otherwise in good condition. Bell push with enamel in good condition, one very small chip to rim of base that Auk is fixed to and traces of old glue to top rim of base where white enamel bezel was fixed. Auk and white enamel bezel are currently detached from base.
