Description

  • length overall 36 1/4 in. (92cm)
the shaped oval plateau on four clawed feet, the border with raised openwork bosses of alternating rosettes with flowers and sprays of pineconesm, separated by palm leaves, the centerpiece supported on six wrinkled and taloned feet below stylized lilies, linked by an openwork band of Gothic foliage highlighted by pine cones and grape clusters, the undulating turned-over rim chased with more Gothic foliage centering cascades of grapes and foliage, separated by stiff leaves and flowers, fitted at each end with removable three-branch arms with Gothic foliage, rising to torsed sconces with openwork flower, foliate and pine-cone aprons, removable plain nozzles (one lacking), the underside of the centerpiece - visible in the reflextion of the plateau - vigorously engraved to match the chased foliage on the exterior, both centerpiece and plateau marked on the undersides and numbered 7982-4728
