Condition

Old minor marks chips and scratches commensurate with age. The recess has been later lined with blue paper. Some of the plaques have been replaced and there are some old restorations, but these are well executed and hardly noticeable on the marble plaques. Some of the marble columns have chips and are missing part of their mouldings, especially the second from the right, but this is not too noticeable and some of them have restored breaks. Some retouching to the parcel-gilding and ebonising in places and some of the mouldings have been replaced on the two deep drawers. Scrolled corbels on the second shallow drawer in the centre are possibly later replacements. There is evidence on the front stiles of previous fixings for the doors. In otherwise good restored condition.
