Description

In the Archaeological revival style, centring on a floral motif of black and white tesserae to an annular gold surround embellished with filigree work, signed to the reverse with a monogram of interlaced C's; together with a brooch designed as an oval blue glass tablet applied on both sides with a micromosaic, to the front depicting a dog observing a bird; to the reverse a seated cupid cradling a bird.

Condition

The annular brooch; Stamped with the interlocking C's for Castellani, smooth surface, very minor loss to the tesserae, tarnish to the gold to the reverse of the brooch, pin could benefit from attention by a professional jeweller, in good condition. The oval brooch; very smooth surface, no loss to the tesserae, chip to the front of the blue tablet, secure fittings, in good condition.
